Elif Güneş
Recipe Developer, Simple Skillet
I develop and test every recipe published on Simple Skillet (recipes.tabserve.com.tr) at home, in my own kitchen, before it goes live. If a recipe says 22 minutes at 425°F, that's the time and temperature that actually got the result described — not a guess.
How I test a recipe
Every recipe is cooked at least twice: once to work out timing and quantities, and again to confirm the result is repeatable with normal home kitchen equipment (no professional ovens, no specialty tools most people don't own). Where a step is easy to get wrong — a texture cue, a common substitution, a mistake that ruins the dish — I call it out explicitly rather than assuming it's obvious.
What I focus on
- Weeknight dinners that hold up to real schedules — realistic prep and cook times
- Exact temperatures and timing rather than vague instructions
- Practical substitutions for common dietary needs and pantry gaps
- Storage, reheating and meal-prep notes so a recipe works more than once
